World Cleanup Day is one of the largest civic movements in the world, uniting millions of people to work towards a cleaner, healthier planet. In 2025, the campaign carries the slogan “A World Without Waste Starts With Us”, a reminder that even the smallest actions can make a big difference. At Kandima, we are passionate about protecting the natural beauty of our island home and the marine life that surrounds us. This year, we proudly joined the global movement and brought the spirit of World Cleanup Day to our corner of paradise.
Together for Our Ocean
In partnership with Maldives Ocean Plastics Alliance (MOPA), our guests and krew came together at Ken’s Cove with one mission in mind: to protect the marine life and natural beauty that make our island home so special. The team’s efforts collected an incredible 103 bags of waste, with a total estimated weight of 303.85kg. Every item removed from the coastline is a step towards keeping the ocean healthier and safeguarding the ecosystem for the future.
Fresh, Green, and Seriously Smart
Sustainability at Kandima is about real action that makes a lasting difference. With Fresh Labs, we bring farm-fresh Maldivian produce straight to the table, supporting local growers while serving dishes that are eco-friendly and delicious. Our coral adoption programme lets guests join us in protecting the reefs by adopting a coral frame, tracking its growth, and contributing to marine conservation. Each of these efforts reflects our commitment to protecting the planet and creating a healthier, more sustainable island (desti)nation.
