Football fans, this festive season is about to get seriously exciting. Two of the biggest names in the women’s game, Lucy Bronze and Ona Batlle, are heading to Kandima from 26 December 2026 to 1 January 2027, bringing world-class football energy to our island (desti)nation.
As part of Kandima’s Festive Game Changers line-up, their visit gives young football fans, families and fellow lovers of the game the chance to get closer to the action and enjoy football with two players who know exactly what it takes to compete at the highest level.
Meet the Game Changers
Lucy Bronze arrives at Kandima with an incredible career behind her and plenty still happening on the pitch. The England international currently plays for Chelsea and has collected major honours across England and Europe, including five UEFA Women’s Champions League titles. She was also part of the Lionesses squads that won the UEFA Women’s EURO in 2022 and 2025.
Joining her is Spain international Ona Batlle, one of the game’s leading full-backs and now an Arsenal player following her move from Barcelona in 2026. A FIFA Women’s World Cup winner with Spain, Batlle has also lifted the UEFA Women’s Champions League twice. Together, they are bringing serious football credentials to Kandima, with plenty of opportunities for guests to join the fun.

Get on the Pitch
From 26 December to 1 January, young football fans can get closer to the game with Lucy and Ona through kids’ coaching sessions, beach games and football challenges. Guests can also join a football match, followed by a penalty shootout for those keen to put their skills to the test. It is a special opportunity for young players to learn, play and share the pitch with two international football stars.

Keep the Fun Going
Before kick-off or once the final whistle blows, there is plenty more to do at Kandima. Race around Fast Track, the Maldives’ longest asphalt e-go-kart circuit, head out on the water with Aquaholics, make something colourful at KULA Art Studio or simply cool off with a swim. With activities for little Game Changers, teens and grown-ups, there is always another way to play on our island (desti)nation.

Your Festive Football Fix
Lucy and Ona’s visit is part of Kandima’s anything-but-ordinary festive celebrations, with The Showtime Fairground bringing even more fun to the island. Pack the football boots alongside the swimwear and get ready for coaching with the pros, beachside games and plenty of festive happenings in between. If football is part of your family’s holiday playbook, Kandima is your kind of place this festive season.
