Kandima has been named Winner of the Family Activities & Entertainment category at the Family Traveller Awards 2026, recognising the island (desti)nation’s approach to creating holidays that bring different generations together through shared experiences.
Hosted by Family Traveller, the UK’s leading family travel brand, the awards ceremony took place at The Swan on London’s South Bank on 11 September 2026. Hundreds of entries were submitted across 19 categories, with finalists selected by an independent panel of family travel journalists before thousands of public votes determined the winners.
For Kandima, the recognition celebrates something that has always been central to the island experience: giving families of all ages plenty of ways to spend time together, while leaving room for everyone to enjoy the holiday their own way.

Big Fun at Fast Track and PlaySpace
For those looking for a little more action, Fast Track brings high-speed excitement to the island with the Maldives’ longest and fastest asphalt go-karting circuit. Its 500-metre oceanfront track features 10 turns and electric go-karts capable of reaching speeds of up to 80km/h.
Over at PlaySpace, families can keep the competition going with bowling, arcade games, virtual reality experiences and themed Eskape Rooms. The entertainment hub has been created with older children and adults in mind, giving families another place to hang out and have fun together.
