Here at Kandima, we use USD (American Dollars) so you can bring these along with you. Most people pay their bill using their credit card however. We accept Visa, American Express and MasterCard.

What should I pack for my holiday to Kandima?

With warm tropical weather throughout the year, it’s best to pack light cotton garments, linen wear, t-shirts and shorts for your holiday here at Kandima Maldives. For footwear, flip flops and sandals will do just fine! Oh-so Kool girls and ladies – heels definitely aren’t needed here, it’s toes in the sand and flip flops all the way! Some of the essentials will include your swimsuits, trunks, sun screen and bikinis, everything you need to hit the beach to soak up the tropical sun. A pair of sunglasses and a hat will also come in handy. For all water activities, such as snorkelling, equipment will be available at Aquaholics, our Watersports and Diving Centre, so these are some of the items you wouldn’t need to bring along with you. When visiting local inhabited islands or the capital city of Male’, it is important to be mindful to dress conservatively as to respect the local culture and religious norms. Ladies are advised to cover their shoulders and thighs, and if visiting a mosque, it is customary to cover your hair as a show of respect.

We use British sockets throughout the resort (Type G British BS-1363). There’s always one adaptor in your studio / villa but if you need an extra one, just call the Buddy Centre.

Kandima is a lifestyle resort and very casual but of course it’s also Oh-so Stylish! In the day, the dress code is beach casual and in the evening, it’s smart casual. But remember girls – there’s no need for heels here – they don’t mix with our white sand very well!

We’re extremely lucky at Kandima Maldives to have a large and fully kitted medical centre right here on the island. We also have our own dentist and a decompression chamber. Our doctors are extremely experienced, with most of them coming from Germany.

When you arrive at the international airport in Male, the first thing you need to do, is to look out for our Kandima Airport Buddy! They’ll be holding up a Kandima sign saying “Kool people over here!” They’ll then put you on your seaplane or domestic transfer to Kandima as soon as possible, ready for your tropiKal island holiday!

How do I know when my departure transfer is?

When the sad time comes for you to leave us, we will inform you of your transfer times one day prior to your departure date. Once the Seaplane Company or the Domestic Airline finalises the timings, a Kandima buddy will deliver a departure letter to your villa.

Well we’ve got some great news for you! You can find out everything you need to know about Kandima before you even arrive! All you have to do is download our Kandima App! Check it out and start getting excited about the Oh-so Kool holiday you’re just about to experience! The next step is arriving at Kandima! Once you’ve walked down our stylish jetty, seen the turquoise waters and had those butterflies of excitement in your stomach that you’ve landed at the koolest resort in the world – you’ll ‘rock in’ to your studio/villa. Our Kandima buddies will then inform you of the K’Island Presentation which you are advised to join. This is where the buddies will tell you everything you need to know for your holiday ahead. Kandima prides itself on being responsible and part of that is using as little paper as possible. Kandima has a super stylish, ultra kool Hop On/Hop Off bus that drives up and down the resort throughout the day through to night. Jump aboard the Kandima Express and it’ll take you to the next awesome bar/restaurant or pool that you wanna go to!

We don’t have a complimentary shuttle service to Niyama, but a private transfer can easily be arranged. Just ask a Kandima buddy at HQ!

Yes! We provide two complimentary bottles of water to each studio/villa every day. If you’d like more, you can just reach out to our Buddy Centre and they’ll help you out.

Every studio and villa at Kandima is non-smoking. Smokers may use the terrace to smoke however where ashtrays are provided upon request.

Our Kandima buddies are from all over the world so we speak many different languages including English, Mandarin, Hokkien, Russian, Arabic, French, Hindhi, Thai, German, Croatian and Swedish!

That’s why you’ll have the Kandima TV in your villa with all the information you need throughout your stay with us. This includes the Kandima island map. Our house reef is awesome! You can see dolphins, turtles and fish in numerous sizes and colours. It’s just a 5-minute boat ride away!

Yes, we provide free snorkelling equipment and lifejackets! Lifejackets will be in your room, as for the snorkelling equipment, you can just drop by to our water sports centre, Aquaholics and collect them.

Yes! We do have a Hammerhead point very close by! To come face-to-face with a Hammerhead shark! What an experience that would be!

You’re in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world so you should go and explore! We have a few options for you: • Hulhudeli: this beautiful local island is stunning with pretty beaches and awesome snorkelling spots. It’s also the home of the Maldivian Romeo and Juliet. Read about it here • Kudhahuvadoo – this is the capital of Dhaalu Atoll • Ken’s Cove – just a five-minute boat ride from the Kandima jetty is Ken’s Cove. This is a gorgeous and Oh-so Kool desert island where you can have a picnic, go for destination dining or even arrange a party / wedding!

Kandima is a place for everyone, so yes, of course we have fun activities for our more elderly guests too! As well as enjoying our ten different bars and restaurants, you could try a beautiful sunset cruise, go to a local island, experience Maldivian hand-line fishing, try to see dolphins on a dolphin cruise or take a massage class or cookery lesson! Kandima is more than just a holiday, it’s a lifestyle! There’s definitely enough to see and do! This is a place where boredom simply doesn’t exist!
